Users may hire the whole premises or just the bar, rehearsal spaces or the main hall without use of the stage facilities.
Parking can be made available for up to 20 cars at the front of the theatre, depending on time of day.

The Playhouse is a conventional "end-on" theatre which normally seats up to 156.
66 at floor level and up to 90 in raked seating.Configurable seating: The raked seating can be retracted to leave a capacity of up to 80-100 seated at tables, or around 120 in concert/lecture configuration.
There are 10 folding tables (6ft x 2.5ft) which can be used for events such as quiz nights or music halls with supper.
The stage has ample wing space, a large scenery dock, and under- and back-stage areas.
Sections of the floor can be lifted out to form a large orchestra pit for a 10+ piece band.
Ideal space for performances, dance events, drama workshops, fitness classes, private parties, and other community or commercial events.

Capacity - 30 standing, 20 seated (5 tables for use)
Ideal for pre/post show refreshments, meetings, coffee mornings, or as additional rehearsal space.
A great space for smaller community group meetings.
Bluetooth stereo sound system for background music and rehearsal use.
Alcohol may be served; the appropriate licences to supply alcohol are the responsibility of the hirer. WiFi is available for your card payment devices.
A number of CHP Trustees now hold licenses and we may be able to run a bar for your event, depending on availability, with the proceeds going back to the Playhouse. Talk to us about it!

Rehearsal room
This is a large room on the upper floor which, when not used as a dressing room, is ideal for rehearsals of up to 10 or 15 people depending on the type of work being performed. It can be booked on its own.
Technical Equipment
A full list of equipment, and stage & technical facilities available can be supplied on request. Hirers may also bring in their own scenery and sound and lighting units as long as they have been approved by the management in advance to be compliant with our safety standards, in particular in terms of electrical inspection and testing.
